Up to Scratch
Im Dan, the scratch dj, I'm a bit of a nocturnal creature who you will usually find in the dance tent throwing shapes at stupid o'clock, or asleep, half dead in Robbie's motor home. I have been with Subgiant from the very start and have loved every minute of it. It's great to get out of my home town of Salisbury and meet new people and see new places with the band. During our sets I tend to make random funky sounds from whatever kit I can get my hands on. I also DJ a bit of Techno, House, Electro and anything that's required on the side at clubs and parties.
I have been on the wheels of steel since I got my first set of decks when I was 13 and its always been a part of my life since then and whenever I go to parties always seem to end up on the decks. The kit I use on stage is a Vestax QFO scratch deck or technics 1210 and Gemini UMX, Korg Kaos pad 2, Numark CDX or Pioneer CDJ1000 and various scratch vinyl or our own sample cds and a few tins of lager thrown in for good measure.
